Under How the Intel’s New Sandy Bridge CPUs Will Refine the Computing Landscape

At present, only dual and quad core processors have been released in the market. Intel intends to launch six core and eight core processors later this year.

As far as thermal design power of these microprocessors are concerned, the desk top variants will have a TDP of 35-95W while the mobile phone variants have been rated at 17-55W. This new architecture also facilitates better performance in transcendental mathematics, AES encryption and SHA-1 hashing.

 

 

We have already mentioned that Sandy Bridge has been used manufacture Intel's i3,i5 and i7 microprocessors. The i3 chipsets are twin core disks and they belong to the low end range of this new series.
