Five Decades Of Audio Work
The company started building audio hardware in 1975, long before gaming headsets were a category. Superhuman Hearing, its long-running preset, compresses the dynamic range so quiet positional cues sit closer in volume to loud ones. It is an equalisation choice rather than magic, and plenty of competitive players prefer it switched off for music and cinematic games.
Platform Support, With Conditions
Multiplatform models carry both a 2.4GHz transmitter and Bluetooth, so one headset can serve a console and a phone at once. Xbox is the exception that catches people out: it needs a model explicitly licensed for it, because the console does not accept a generic wireless dongle. The product listing names the platforms outright.
The ROCCAT Lines Carried Over
Vulcan keyboards, Kone and Burst mice and the Sense mousepad range all survived the brand consolidation and now ship as Turtle Beach. Existing ROCCAT hardware still works, and support and downloads moved to the Turtle Beach portal rather than being retired with the name.
