Two cards carrying the same GeForce chip can behave very differently once they are inside a case. Cooler size sets fan speed at a given load, board length decides whether the card clears a drive cage, and the power connector determines whether an existing supply can drive it at all. Those three things separate Palit's Dual, Infinity and StormX variants far more than clock speed does.
Resolution sets the floor. A 96-bit entry card is a 1080p device and will stay one; the 128-bit 60-class parts hold 1080p comfortably and reach 1440p once upscaling takes some of the load. Buying more graphics card than the monitor asks for is the most common way to overspend at this end of the range.
