What Black Ops 7 Actually Asks of a PC
Activision published three tiers for the PC release on 14 November 2025 and they remain the reference point. The minimum is a GTX 970, RX 470 or Arc A580 class card with 3 GB of video memory, 8 GB of system memory and Windows 10. The recommended tier moves to an RTX 3060, RX 6600 XT or Arc B580 with 8 GB of video memory and 12 GB of system memory. The competitive and 4K ultra tier calls for an RTX 4080, RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT with 12 GB of video memory and 16 GB of system memory.
Both are hard launch requirements. On most desktop boards the trusted platform module is a firmware feature named fTPM on AMD platforms and PTT on Intel, so no separate module is needed. Secure Boot only works on a UEFI installation using a GPT partition layout; a Windows install that was originally set up in legacy mode has to be converted before the option becomes available.
Activision specifies solid-state storage rather than simply free space. The game streams texture data continuously during a match, and a mechanical drive produces hitching at exactly the moments you would rather it did not. Seasonal content and a shared Warzone installation both grow that footprint, so a 1 TB drive is the sensible floor for a machine that will keep the game installed.
The minimum tier runs the game; it does not run it well, and 3 GB of video memory limits texture settings immediately. The recommended tier targets around 60 frames per second at high settings. The top tier is listed for competitive play and 4K ultra together, which is why it jumps to a 12 GB video memory figure while the processor requirement stays comparatively modest.
The game supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XeSS. Upscaling is close to free performance. Frame generation is different: it inserts interpolated frames, so the counter rises while input latency also rises. Competitive players generally run upscaling with NVIDIA Reflex enabled and leave frame generation switched off.
The published 4K figure is 16 GB of system memory, which is workable if nothing else is running. Add a browser, a voice client and a capture tool and 32 GB stops being an indulgence. Processor demand rises with frame rate rather than resolution, so a high-refresh 1080p player leans on the CPU far harder than someone playing at 4K.
Two requirements catch more buyers than the graphics card does. The first is security: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot must be switched on in firmware, and the RICOCHET anti-cheat system verifies those settings before granting full playlist access. The second is the storage medium, because the 116 GB figure is quoted against an SSD rather than a mechanical drive. Build for both before arguing about resolution.
