Verified by Visa
Verified by Visa is a free service developed to help prevent unauthorized use of Visa cards online. It protects your card with a personal password, giving you reassurance that only you can use it.
Once activated, your card number is recognised at participating online stores. A Verified by Visa window automatically appears and your card issuer asks for your password to verify your identity and complete the purchase.
At stores that aren't participating in Verified by Visa yet, your card continues to work as usual.
MasterCard SecureCode
MasterCard SecureCode is a service from MasterCard and your card issuer that provides added protection when you buy online. No new card is required for Maestro or MasterCard holders.
You choose your own personal SecureCode, known only to you and your bank — it's never shared with merchants. Every time you pay online, a box pops up from your card issuer asking for your code, just like the bank does at the ATM.
