Shenzhen KingSpec Electronics has designed and built flash storage since 2007 and runs two brands: KingSpec for consumer and retail, YANSEN for industrial and embedded. Products carry CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH and KC marks and the factory is ISO 9001 certified.
Three bits per cell in a stacked die - the mainstream compromise between cost per gigabyte, density and write endurance. It is what nearly every consumer drive at this price uses, and it is why capacity is cheap.
Part of the NAND is operated in single-bit mode so incoming writes land fast. Once that region is full, speed falls back to the native rate until it drains. A fuller drive has a smaller cache, which is why free space matters.
The Gen4 XG7000 uses a thin graphene sheet; the Gen5 flagship ships with a proper heatsink. Measure before you buy - a drive with its own heatsink cannot also sit under the motherboard's M.2 shroud.
KingSpec also makes memory modules. On-die ECC is part of the DDR5 standard rather than a brand feature: it corrects single-bit errors inside the chip and is not a substitute for true system ECC.
CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH and KC appear on the retail packaging. They cover electrical safety, emissions and restricted substances - regulatory compliance, not a performance grade.
An M.2 slot can be keyed for SATA, for NVMe, or wired to fewer PCIe lanes than the drive wants. Check the socket's supported protocol, its supported lengths and the console or laptop's clearance before ordering.
Drives held in the Centurion warehouse and dispatched by courier, with warranty claims lodged here rather than posted overseas. Compatibility questions get answered before you order, not after.
Sealed retail packaging with the model's own documentation, so the capacity, form factor and interface on the box are the ones you can hold us to.
Cover differs by product line - the Gen5 flagship carries a three-year term. The exact period is shown with each drive; keep the invoice for a claim.
Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban usually take one to three business days from dispatch; regional addresses three to five. Collection is available at Centurion.
Tell us the motherboard model, laptop model or console and we will confirm the socket type, supported length and lane allocation before the order goes through.
Get a note when KingSpec drives land or a capacity comes back into stock. Storage pricing moves with the NAND market, so timing an upgrade is worth something.

Most storage disappointment comes from a mismatch, not a bad drive. A Gen5 SSD in a Gen3 socket runs at Gen3 speed, an NVMe stick in a SATA-keyed M.2 slot is not detected at all, and a heatsinked drive under a graphics card may not physically go in.
Work outward from the slot: what the socket supports, how many lanes it gets, how much vertical clearance sits above it, and only then which KingSpec model to put in it.
