How to Choose a Logitech Mousepad
The right Logitech pad comes down to surface feel, size, and whether you want POWERPLAY charging. Cloth gives you control and a softer stop; a hard surface gives you speed. Get the size right for your sensitivity, then decide if wireless charging is worth it for your mouse.
Cloth pads (like the large G840) give more control and a defined stop, which suits lower-sensitivity and tracking-heavy play. A hard surface (like the G440) speeds up glide and suits faster flicks. Most gamers start with cloth; pick hard if you want minimal friction.
POWERPLAY is a Logitech G mouse mat that charges compatible Lightspeed wireless mice as you play, via a POWERCORE module fitted to the mouse. It's only worth it if you run a supported Logitech G wireless mouse — for a wired or other-brand mouse, a standard cloth or hard pad is the better buy.
Lower sensitivity (DPI) means bigger arm movements, so you'll want a larger pad to avoid running off the edge mid-swipe. Higher sensitivity players can use a medium pad. If you play FPS at low sens, size up; for desktop and mixed use, a standard pad is fine.
Standard Logitech cloth and hard pads work with any optical or laser mouse, regardless of brand. The exception is POWERPLAY's wireless charging, which only powers compatible Logitech G mice. The surface itself still works with any mouse even if you can't use the charging.
Spot-clean cloth pads with a little water and mild soap, then dry flat — don't soak them or scrub the surface hard. Keep food and drink away from the mat, and a clean mouse foot keeps glide consistent. Hard surfaces just need a wipe with a damp cloth.
