A mobile controller replaces touchscreen controls with physical sticks, triggers and buttons, which removes the two biggest problems with playing on glass: your thumbs covering the screen, and having no tactile feedback for aiming or braking.

There are two shapes. Telescopic controllers stretch around the phone so it becomes a handheld console, with no lag and no separate battery to charge. Bluetooth pads sit apart from the phone and work with a clip or a stand, which suits larger devices and cloud gaming on a TV.

Most models on this page use Hall effect sticks, so they do not develop drift, and many pass charge through while you play.
