PC Monitors for Gaming & Work 🖥️

Your monitor decides what you actually see — its resolution sets the detail, its refresh rate sets how smooth motion looks, and its panel type sets colour and contrast. For gaming, a high refresh rate (144Hz or more) is the single biggest upgrade; for creative and office work, resolution and colour accuracy matter most.

Match the monitor to your PC and use. 1080p high-refresh suits competitive gaming and modest GPUs; 1440p is the popular sweet spot for detail and smoothness; 4K gives the sharpest image but needs a strong graphics card to drive it at high frame rates. Pick an IPS panel for colour, VA for deep contrast, or OLED for the best blacks.

Evetech stocks gaming and professional monitors across every size, resolution and refresh rate, all with local warranty and fast nationwide delivery. Compare specs below, then pair a high-refresh display with adaptive sync (FreeSync or G-Sync) and a graphics card that can drive it.

How to Choose a PC Monitor

Start with how you'll use it: fast-paced gaming, immersive single-player, creative work, or general productivity. That decides which spec to prioritise — refresh rate, resolution, panel type or colour accuracy — and what your GPU needs to keep up. The guide below covers the decisions that matter.

1080p is the easiest to drive and great for competitive high-refresh gaming on modest GPUs. 1440p is the popular sweet spot, balancing sharpness and frame rate. 4K is the sharpest and best for creative work and big screens, but needs a strong graphics card to run smoothly in games. Match the resolution to your GPU, not just the price.
Refresh rate (Hz) is how many times the screen updates per second — higher means smoother motion. 60Hz is fine for office and creative work; 144Hz is the gaming standard and a clear upgrade over 60Hz; 240Hz and above suit competitive shooters where every frame counts. Remember your GPU has to produce the frames to use a high refresh rate.
IPS panels give the best colour accuracy and viewing angles — ideal for creative work and all-round use. VA panels offer deeper contrast and darker blacks, good for immersive and movie viewing. OLED delivers true blacks and fast response for the best image, at a premium. TN is the budget, fast option but with weaker colour.
Adaptive sync matches the monitor's refresh to your GPU's frame rate, removing screen tearing and stutter without forcing V-Sync. FreeSync pairs with AMD GPUs and G-Sync with NVIDIA, though many monitors support both. If you game, it's well worth having — pick the one that matches your graphics card.
A flat monitor is best for colour-critical creative work and multi-monitor setups. A curved screen wraps the image slightly for more immersion, which suits gaming and larger sizes. Ultrawide (21:9) gives extra horizontal space for productivity and sim/strategy games, but not every title supports the aspect ratio.
