Fibre Routers — Stronger Wi-Fi for Your Line 🌐
A fibre router connects to your fibre line and shares that connection over Wi-Fi and Ethernet to every device in the house. On most South African fibre lines, your ISP supplies the ONT — the box mounted on the wall — and the router plugs into it. A better router won't make the line faster, but it spreads that speed further, holds more devices at once and gives a more stable connection.
If your ISP's free router struggles with range, drops devices in busy households, or chokes during peak evening hours, a dedicated router is the upgrade that fixes it. Look at the Wi-Fi standard (Wi-Fi 6 and 6E handle crowded networks better than older Wi-Fi 5), the number and speed of LAN ports for wired gear, and the coverage you need for the size of your home.
Evetech stocks fibre routers with local warranty and nationwide delivery. Compare Wi-Fi standards, port counts and coverage below, and for a large home consider a mesh system if a single router can't reach every room.
