Dell rebuilt the Alienware laptop line around two names. Area-51 is the flagship, sold in 16 and 18-inch sizes with Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, GeForce RTX 50 Series laptop graphics reaching the 24 GB RTX 5090, and a Cryo-Chamber structure that raises the rear of the chassis to feed four fans through a large vapour chamber. The 16X Aurora sits below it, using the same silicon families in a slimmer, lighter build.

Choosing between them comes down to how much sustained power you are willing to carry. The 18-inch Area-51 is engineered for up to 280 W of combined processor and graphics draw and behaves like a desk machine; the 16-inch models give up part of that ceiling in exchange for a bag that closes.
