Start from the peripherals rather than the processor. Count every device that has to plug in, including the barcode scanner, the receipt printer, the cash drawer path, the customer-facing display, a scale if you sell by weight, and any cable the bank's card terminal needs, then confirm the machine has that many native ports of the right type before looking at anything else.
Then decide how it will be mounted and cooled. A unit bolted under a counter or hung on an arm behind the screen sits in still, warm air. One left on an open shelf collects dust from packaging and foot traffic. Both conditions shorten the life of a fan that was specified for a quiet office.
