R500 is the floor of the keyboard market, and it buys a specific kind of board: wired, full size, membrane or a hybrid that puts a clicky mechanism on top of a rubber dome sheet. Backlighting turns up on some. Genuine mechanical switches turn up rarely, and when they do the saving has come from somewhere else on the board.

That is not a reason to avoid the bracket. A second keyboard for a lounge machine, a spare for the office, a replacement for a board someone spilled coffee into, or a first keyboard for a study desk are all sensible reasons to spend exactly this much and no more.
