The Ninkear M8 measures 130 x 127.5 x 52 mm and weighs 478 g, which is smaller than most books yet holds an eight-core Ryzen 7 and a 1 TB drive. It is built for the desk that has no room for a tower: mounted behind a monitor, on a shelf, or simply sitting beside the keyboard.

The processor is an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS running 8 cores and 16 threads between 3.8 GHz and 4.9 GHz, built on TSMC's 4 nm FinFET process with a 35 W power draw. That core count handles compiling, spreadsheets with heavy models and a stack of browser tabs without the machine slowing to a crawl.

Graphics are handled by AMD's Radeon 780M, the integrated GPU that made mini PCs viable for more than office work. It drives multiple displays, accelerates video encoding and decoding, and copes with light editing work that would previously have needed a discrete card and the case to hold it.

Memory is 16 GB of DDR5 across two SO-DIMM slots, and the board accepts up to 64 GB. Both slots being user-accessible matters more than the shipped capacity, because it means the machine can be upgraded in two years rather than replaced when workloads grow.

Storage starts at 1 TB on an M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 drive, with an internal M.2 2280 slot and an external one supporting up to 2 TB. That gives room to separate an operating system drive from a project or media drive without hanging an external enclosure off a USB port.

The M8 arrives with Windows 11 already installed, so it boots to a desktop out of the box rather than needing an installation drive. For a home office or a second machine that is the difference between being useful the same afternoon and being a weekend project.

Connectivity covers four USB 3.2 ports, one USB Type-C, an HDMI output, a DisplayPort output and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. That is enough for a keyboard, mouse, webcam, external drive and headset at once, without a hub occupying one of the ports.

Two RJ45 ports each run at 2.5 Gbps, with support down through 1000, 100 and 10 Mbps. Dual network interfaces are unusual at this size and open up uses beyond a desktop: a firewall, a NAS front end, or simply a machine on two separate networks at the same time.

Wireless is Wi-Fi 6 on 802.11ax with Bluetooth 5.2, so the machine keeps up on a modern router and pairs with wireless keyboards, headsets and controllers. Where cabling is impractical, Wi-Fi 6 gives the throughput that makes wireless a real alternative rather than a fallback.

A smart fan adjusts active cooling to load, and the chassis uses a metal middle frame with plastic top and bottom panels in silver grey. The metal frame does the structural and thermal work while the plastic panels keep the weight at 478 g, which is why it can hang off a monitor mount.

Power comes from a 19 V / 3.42 A adapter accepting 100-240 V AC at 50-60 Hz through a 5.5 mm DC barrel connector. The retail box measures 160 x 160 x 99 mm at 1080 g and contains the M8, the power adapter, an HDMI cable and the user manual.
