Razer Huntsman V2 Optical Gaming Keyboard: Fastest Clicky Optical Switches w/Quick Keystrokes & 8000Hz Polling Rate - Doubleshot PBT Keycaps - Dedicated Media Keys & Dial - PUBG: Battleground Edition / RZ03-03932300-R3M1 / RZ03-03932300-R3M1

The Razer Huntsman V2 is an optical gaming keyboard running clicky optical switches at a true 8000 Hz polling rate, so each keystroke is reported to the PC as it happens. Doubleshot PBT keycaps resist wear through heavy use, and dedicated media keys with a digital dial handle sound and playback. This is the PUBG: Battleground Edition, model RZ03-03932300-R3M1.

This Huntsman V2 forgoes the number pad, which shortens the board and leaves more desk width for low-sensitivity mouse movement. Razer pairs that compact footprint with enhanced acoustics and minimal input lag, and the PUBG: Battleground Edition adds its own styling to a keyboard otherwise built to the same specification as the standard model.

Razer Optical Switches carry a lifespan of up to 100 million keystrokes, well beyond what a conventional mechanical switch is specified for, alongside very fast actuation speeds. For a keyboard that will take the same handful of keys being hammered every session, switch lifespan is the specification that decides how long the board stays usable.

The Huntsman V2 line comes with two switch characters. The clicky optical switch gives crisp tactile feedback with audible confirmation and a lighter press than traditional mechanical switches. The linear optical switch is engineered with sound-dampening for quieter typing. Both run the true 8000 Hz polling rate that keeps input lag down.

Because actuation is triggered by light rather than metal contacts touching, the Huntsman V2 has no debounce delay to filter out. Traditional mechanical switches need a short wait to confirm a contact is genuine, and removing that step means the signal is transmitted the instant the key is pressed.

The keyboard polls at a true 8000 Hz, reporting its state to the PC eight thousand times a second instead of the 1000 Hz that has long been standard. Combined with the quick response of the optical switches, that shortens the path from key actuation to PC output, which is what matters in competitive play.

The top plate is aircraft-grade aluminium finished in a matte texture, giving the board rigidity so the key bed does not flex under heavy typing. An ergonomic wrist rest lines up with the front edge of the keyboard, taking pressure off the wrists and reducing fatigue across a long session.

The video is the practical way to judge how this keyboard sounds, since a layer of specialised foam inside the housing absorbs the ping that rings out of an empty case when keys are pressed firmly. What you hear is the switch itself rather than the chassis resonating behind it.

PBT is a harder, more enduring plastic than ABS, so these keycaps resist wear and keep their original texture instead of developing the shiny patches that appear on well-used caps. The doubleshot moulding process forms each legend from a second piece of plastic, which is why the labels stay sharp permanently.

A multi-function digital dial and four media keys handle playback, lighting and volume from one place, and all of them can be reassigned. The keyboard also stores up to five profiles in hybrid on-board memory, with a wider library of macros and settings kept in cloud storage for machines you have not configured yet.
