The backrest drops back to 165 degrees, close enough to flat to lie down in between rounds. A Pro seat mechanism with a lock-tilt function holds it at whatever angle you set instead of pushing back against you. Separately from that, the whole seat rocks up to 12 degrees and locks at five different angles.

Each armrest moves three ways. They raise and lower, slide forwards and backwards, and rotate inwards or outwards so the pad sits under your forearm rather than beside it. That covers the adjustments most people actually reach for when lining up to a desk or a keyboard tray.

The seat rides on a Class 4 gas lift, the strongest of the four gas-lift classes, and the chair is rated to carry up to 145kg. Arozzi lists it as suiting users between 165cm and 190cm tall, so it is a full-size chair rather than a compact one.

The frame is metal and the five-star wheelbase is aluminium rather than nylon, so the load path from your weight down to the floor stays metal the whole way. Premium XL castors carry it, which is what keeps a heavier chair rolling smoothly on both carpet and hard floors.

Both pillows come in the box. The lumbar pillow uses moulded foam on an adjustable strap, so you slide it up or down the backrest until it sits where your own lower back needs it. The neck pillow is wadding-filled and loops over the top of the backrest.

SoftPU is Arozzi's high-end synthetic leather, smooth and cool to the touch rather than textured like their fabric range. It cleans with a damp cloth, which is why it suits a desk where food and drink are around. Fabric breathes better in heat, so this is the pick when easy cleaning matters more to you than airflow.
