Two things age a light build. Dust and skin oils show against a pale surface long before they would against black, and the plastics themselves shift tone over years as ultraviolet light and heat act on the flame retardants in ABS. Neither is a defect, and placement plus a cleaning habit prevents most of it.
The other half of the job is construction. A pale interior reflects everything, so untidy cable runs, mismatched connector colours and a drooping graphics card are all far more obvious than they would be in a dark chassis. Building this way is less forgiving, which is exactly why a finished one looks the way it does.
