The AM30U ships as a complete kit: a USB condenser microphone on a metal boom arm with a desk clamp, joined to the computer by a single 2 m USB-C cable. It is plug and play on Windows, macOS, PS4 and PS5, with no driver to install before your first recording. Everything needed to get a microphone off the desk and in front of your mouth is in the box.

An AI noise-reduction engine runs on the microphone itself, filtering keyboard clatter, fan hum and room tone out of your voice before it reaches the computer. A double click switches it on or off, so you can leave it engaged for calls and streams and disable it when you want the raw capsule signal for music or editing.

The condenser capsule uses a cardioid pattern, listening in front of the microphone and rejecting most of what arrives from behind it. Effective pickup runs to roughly 40cm, which suits a boom-mounted position just off to the side of a monitor. Sit inside that range and your voice stays present without the room creeping in behind it.

A pop filter is built into the grille rather than clamped on separately, so plosive bursts from words beginning with P and B are softened before they reach the capsule. It also takes the edge off breath noise when you work in close. Nothing extra hangs between you and the microphone to get in the way of a camera.

Input gain is adjustable across a 0 to 100 range, with output volume on the same scale, so levels can be set precisely for a quiet room or a loud one. Backing the gain off tames a strong voice before it clips, while raising it brings up a softer speaker. Both adjust on the microphone, without opening a settings panel.

A 3.5mm headphone output on the microphone lets you hear yourself in real time as you speak, with none of the delay that comes from routing monitoring back through the computer. Hearing your own voice the way a listener does makes it far easier to hold a steady distance from the capsule and catch problems while recording.

Holding the control for one second mutes the microphone, and holding it again brings it back, keeping a cough or an interruption off the stream without reaching for software. Because the action happens on the hardware, it behaves the same whether you are in a game, on a call or partway through a recording session.

The body carries RGB lighting with eight selectable modes, from a steady colour through shifting effects, so it can match the rest of a desk setup on camera. If you would rather it stayed out of shot, the lighting switches off completely. The choice is a matter of look, not a compromise on how the microphone performs.

The metal boom arm clamps to any desk up to 4.5cm thick and carries as much as 1.5kg. It swings 360 degrees horizontally and 180 degrees vertically, and the microphone head itself tilts through 180 degrees, so the capsule sits exactly where you want it and swings out of the camera frame between takes.
