ClipMount holds a phone against a flat magnetic face using N50 neodymium magnets, with no arms, clips or springs touching the handset. Docking is a single motion, and because nothing has to be adjusted for phone width, the mount works the same way whether you carry a compact handset or a large one.

The clip is designed for both horizontal slats and grid-pattern vents, and its clamp holds steady rather than rattling loose on a rough surface. Mounting to the vent keeps the dashboard free of adhesive pads and lets the whole unit come out when the car is parked in the sun.

ClipMount measures 60 x 60mm at the face and adjusts through a height range of 80 to 100mm. That adjustment is what lets the phone sit above or below the vent line depending on where the dash controls and the driver's sightline actually are, rather than forcing one fixed position.

The mount itself weighs 47.5g, which keeps the total load on a plastic vent louvre low once a phone is attached. Weight matters here more than it looks: a heavy mount plus a large phone is what causes vent slats to droop, and ClipMount keeps its own contribution to that small.

An 8.5g metal ring set ships with the mount so handsets and cases without built-in magnets attach just as securely. Fit the ring once and the phone becomes part of the system permanently, which is what keeps ClipMount usable across older phones and thicker protective cases.

The body pairs ABS and polycarbonate plastics with metal at the contact points and the magnets themselves. The plastics keep it light enough for a vent mount while the metal takes the repeated stress of clipping in and out, which is where a purely plastic clamp usually gives way first.

With the cradle removed from the equation the phone turns freely on the magnetic face, so navigation can run wide and a music or call screen can sit upright. The switch happens without unmounting, which is the whole point of a cradleless design for a driver who does both on one trip.
