Component pricing does not behave like the rest of a Black Friday catalogue. Parts clear when a generation is being run down, or when a retailer is holding depth in a line that is not selling, so the sharpest reductions usually sit on superseded boards, coolers, cases, power supplies and peripherals rather than on whatever launched most recently.
Memory and flash storage are this year's exception. DRAM and NAND contract prices have climbed steeply through 2026 as manufacturers moved wafer capacity towards high-bandwidth memory for AI accelerators, and system builders have signalled higher prices as a result. A November figure on a RAM kit or an SSD can be a real reduction against last month and still sit above what the same part cost a year ago, which is exactly why your own record of the price matters more than the strike-through.
