The GameSir X5s is a stretch-style mobile controller that works with Switch, Switch 2, Android, iOS and PC. It holds a device between 105 and 213 mm, weighs 174.1 g and measures 196.7 x 88 x 46 mm. Hall Effect sticks and Hall Effect analog triggers sit behind a layout that follows standard console spacing.

Three connection modes cover different situations: Bluetooth for a quick phone link, USB-C when you want a wired connection, and 2.4GHz for low-latency play. The 2.4GHz dongle is not included in the box, so plan for Bluetooth or the wired option unless you already have a compatible receiver on hand.

The thumbsticks are GameSir Hall Effect units, sensing movement through magnetic fields instead of contact wipers. With no surfaces grinding against each other, the neutral position stays true and the sticks do not develop the slow wander that ends the life of a conventional analog stick.

The triggers are analog and magnetically sensed like the sticks, so pressure is read across the whole travel rather than as a simple on or off. That gives you fine throttle control in a racing game and lets a shooter distinguish a light pull from a full press, which digital shoulder buttons cannot do.

A built-in 6-axis gyroscope lets you aim by tilting the controller, layering fine motion adjustment on top of stick input. In practice players use the stick for large turns and the gyro for the last few degrees onto a target, which is far quicker than trying to do both with a thumb.

An HD rumble motor sits in each grip, so vibration can be sent to the left or right side independently rather than shaking the whole body at once. That separation is what makes feedback readable: an impact from the left feels different from one on the right instead of registering as generic buzz.

The ABXY buttons are membrane switches and their positions can be physically rearranged. That matters if you move between Nintendo-style and Xbox-style layouts, because muscle memory is tied to where a button sits rather than what it is called. Set the arrangement once and stop misreading prompts.

Turbo is not limited to the face buttons. It can be assigned to A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LT and RT, which means rapid-fire can sit on a trigger or a bumper depending on what the game maps there. The D-pad and ABXY buttons both use membrane switches for a quiet press.

The bridge stretches to take handsets from 105 to 213 mm long, or 4.13 to 8.39 inches. That window spans compact phones through to large-screen models, so a phone upgrade does not automatically mean a new controller. Measure the long edge of your device, case included, before you commit.

Power comes from 840mAh of total capacity, arranged as 420mAh in each side of the controller and topped up through the Type-C port. Splitting the cells keeps the weight balanced between your hands rather than loading one grip, which is noticeable on a controller you hold up rather than rest in your lap.

The handles are laser engraved rather than printed, so the texture is cut into the shell and stays put with use. At 174.1 g the controller is light enough to hold in front of you for a long stretch, and the GameSir app handles macro programming and button mapping when the defaults are not what you want.
