Vertical GPU Mounting, Done Properly
A PCIe riser cable moves your graphics card off the motherboard slot so you can mount it vertically and show the cooler through a tempered-glass side panel. The card still runs on the full x16 PCIe link, just rotated to face the window.
Match the riser to your GPU. A PCIe 4.0 riser suits most current and previous-generation cards, while a PCIe 5.0 riser is what you need to run a Gen 5 card, such as the RTX 5090 or RX 9070, at full link speed. Keep the cable short and well shielded, and if you see errors or a dropped link speed, set the correct PCIe generation in BIOS.
