This is the floor of the discrete graphics market, and the shoppers here are usually specific: someone giving a desktop with no graphics card of its own a way to run games, someone reviving an older machine on a fixed budget, or someone who needs a display output and an encoder rather than frame rates. Expect a narrow memory bus, modest power draw and a short circuit board.

The honest framing at this level is that you are buying capability, not headroom. A card down here plays current games at 1080p with the settings turned down and older or lighter titles comfortably, and it will be the first component you replace when your standards rise. Working out whether that trade is worth making is the whole decision.
