The i3 label is now a legacy marker. Intel removed the"i" from Core branding when Core Ultra arrived, and the last desktop parts to carry it were the 14th-generation 14100 and 14100F on LGA1700. A bundle built around one is therefore a finished, fully known platform bought cheaply rather than a starting point with years of processor upgrades ahead of it.
That is not automatically the wrong buy. Four performance cores with Hyper-Threading still handle browsers, office suites, coursework and most competitive shooters comfortably, and the board and memory in the bundle are usually the parts that were genuinely holding an older machine back. The point is to know which trade you are making before you order.
