The Promate CubeCast-2 is an ultra-portable DLP projector with native 720p resolution, 4K@60Hz support over HDMI and 100 ANSI lumens of brightness. It runs Android 13.0, shares screens wirelessly from a phone or tablet, and fits in your palm. Auto keystone correction, electronic focus, a built-in speaker, touch controls and a bundled remote are all part of the package.

Digital Light Processing drives the CubeCast-2's image, delivering the clarity, colour saturation and contrast the projector is built around. DLP holds detail whether the content is a dark film scene, a slide deck with fine text or a fast-moving game, which is why the same unit works for a movie night outdoors and a boardroom presentation.

The CubeCast-2 mirrors a smartphone or tablet screen wirelessly, so a series streaming on a phone or a deck open on a tablet goes straight to the projected image with no cable run. That removes the adapter hunt at the start of a meeting and lets the projector sit across the room from the device driving it.

Brightness is rated at 100 ANSI lumens. ANSI lumens describe average brightness measured across the whole projected image, so it is the figure worth comparing when you look at portable projectors. In practice that output suits outdoor movie nights once the light drops, and presentations in rooms that are not fully darkened.

The CubeCast-2 projects at native 720p HD and accepts 4K@60Hz sources over HDMI, so a console or media box set to 4K connects without a resolution mismatch stopping playback. The projected image is produced at the unit's native 720p. The practical effect is that the projector slots into an existing 4K setup rather than forcing you to change the source device.

Connectivity covers HDMI and USB, which brings PlayStation and Xbox consoles into range along with streaming hardware such as Roku and the Amazon Fire Stick. Anything that outputs over HDMI can drive the CubeCast-2 directly, so a game night and a client presentation use the same single cable rather than two different setups.

Auto Keystone correction adjusts the projection angle automatically so the image squares up rather than leaning as a trapezoid when the projector sits off-axis. Electronic focus handles sharpness from the unit itself. Between them, the CubeCast-2 can be aimed at a ceiling or a textured wall and still resolve a clean, distortion-free picture without manual dial-twisting.

The CubeCast-2 runs Android 13.0, which puts streaming apps and platforms on the projector itself instead of requiring a separate box. For offline use it reads USB drives up to 1TB, so a full film and photo library travels on a flash drive for trips where there is nothing to stream from.

A built-in speaker handles sound without extra hardware, and Bluetooth pairing connects the CubeCast-2 to soundbars or headphones when you want more than the internal driver provides. Headphones keep a late film private, while a paired soundbar suits a room full of people. Audio and video therefore travel in the same palm-sized unit.

Responsive touch controls sit on the projector for switching modes, and a remote is included for playback and volume from across the room. A built-in rechargeable battery runs the CubeCast-2 away from an outlet, and the compact, lightweight body fits in a palm. Together those three make it a projector you can carry to a campsite or a client site.
