Methodology & privacy
What we collect
When you vote on Evetech Pulse we store: the question you voted on, the option you chose, a server-generated session identifier, the province you self-declared (if any), and the platform you voted from (web or app). If you are logged in we also link the vote to your user account so your vote history persists across devices.
What we do not collect
We do not collect or store your IP address for province assignment. Province is always self-declared by tapping the interactive map — never geolocated from your IP. We do not track mouse movement, keystrokes, or passive browser signals on Pulse pages.
How your vote is used
Votes are aggregated into anonymised statistics. Individual votes are never shown publicly. Results are served from a pre-computed cache refreshed every 15 minutes. We use the aggregate data to produce editorial content, inform product decisions, and support retail-facing insights.
50-vote province minimum
Provincial statistics are only surfaced once a province has 50 or more votes on a given question. Smaller sample sizes are hidden to avoid misleading numbers.
Self-selection disclaimer
Pulse is not a scientifically random sample of South African gamers. Participation is voluntary and skews toward visitors of evetech.co.za. Our data reflects the opinions of engaged Evetech audiences, not the population at large.
Vote immutability
Once cast, a vote cannot be changed, deleted, or updated. Your province is also locked to each vote at the moment it was cast — if you later change your declared province, older votes keep their original province value.
Your rights (POPIA)
If you are logged in you can request deletion of your Pulse vote history at any time by contacting [email protected]. Anonymous session-bound votes cannot be deleted because they are not linked to an identifiable person.
Giveaway T&C's
The evetech PULSE Giveaway runs from 17 July 2026 until 9:00am SAST on 1 August 2026 and is open to South African residents with a valid local delivery address. To enter, follow evetech on Instagram, Facebook or X, like the pinned giveaway post, share your Gaming DNA Card in the comments and tag a friend. You must also sign up or log in on the evetech website or App, select the PULSE banner, complete all eight CENSUS questions and answer at least 15 questions in EXPLORE THE FEED. Each valid EXPLORE THE FEED question answered will count as one entry, so the more questions you answer, the better your chances of winning. Three winners will be randomly selected and announced on evetech’s official social media pages on 1 August 2026. Prizes include a UPERFECT UGame K7 17.3" QHD Portable Gaming Monitor, a Gamdias ZELUS E5 Gaming Chair and a GameSir G7 Pro WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Edition Wireless Controller, with each winner also receiving an evetech mousepad and backpack. No purchase is required, only one evetech account may be used per person, and automated, duplicate or fraudulent entries will be disqualified. Winners must be successfully verified and respond within three business days. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and will only be delivered within South Africa. Full terms and conditions apply.
