How often you upgrade your GPU depends on the games you play, the resolution you use and how much performance you expect. Some gamers upgrade every generation for the latest features and higher frame rates, while others keep the same GPU for several years.

A good upgrade usually makes sense when your current GPU struggles to deliver the performance you want or cannot handle newer games at your preferred settings. If your frame rates and visual quality are still where you want them, there is little reason to upgrade just for the sake of it.
