Mechanical or membrane keyboard?

Once you go mechanical, can you really go back? Mechanical keyboards offer tactile feedback, durability, and customisation. Membrane keyboards are quieter, cheaper, and perfectly functional for most gamers. The mechanical keyboard community is passionate — but are they the majority in SA, or is membrane still king?
