Seagate rates the drive for up to 550TB per year of workload, a 2.5 million hour MTBF and a 0.35% annualised failure rate in 24x7 operation. The unrecoverable read error rate is 1 sector per 10E15 bits read.

Conventional magnetic recording writes straight to the platter, so a rebuild or a long write stream is not slowed by shingled-track rewrites. Seagate lists 168 random read and 550 random write IOPS at a 4K block size and queue depth 16.

Instant Secure Erase is a cryptographic erase command for retiring or repurposing the drive; this is not a self-encrypting FIPS drive. It ships in 512e and can be switched to 4Kn with FastFormat, which erases all data on the drive.

Everything you need to know about this product
A 3.5-inch enterprise hard drive for servers, NAS boxes and data-centre storage. It is a helium-sealed, 7200RPM CMR drive with 512MB of cache on a SATA 6Gb/s interface.
ISE is Instant Secure Erase. The drive supports a cryptographic erase command, so its data can be wiped quickly when it is retired or reused. It is the standard ISE model, not a self-encrypting FIPS drive.
CMR. Seagate lists conventional magnetic recording for the drive, so it does not use shingled tracks.
It uses the standard 3.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s connection, so it fits any bay and port of that type. It is an enterprise drive built for 24x7 use, and Seagate rates its typical idle power at 6.3W and its acoustics above those of a desktop drive, so check that your enclosure suits it.
Both describe how the drive presents its sectors. 512e shows 512-byte logical sectors on 4096-byte physical ones and works with older systems; 4Kn shows 4096-byte sectors. The drive ships as 512e and can be switched with FastFormat, which erases all data on it.
Seagate's product manual rates it for up to 550TB per year, with a 2.5 million hour MTBF and a 0.35% annualised failure rate at full 24x7 operation.
Seagate lists a maximum sustained transfer rate of 285MB/s from the outer edge of the platters. In random 4K tests at queue depth 16 it is rated at 168 read and 550 write IOPS.
Seagate lists 26.1 x 101.85 x 147 mm and 685g, the size of a standard 3.5-inch drive.
