One Brand Now.
Console And PC.

Turtle Beach has made gaming audio since 1975. In 2024 it retired the ROCCAT name it had owned since 2019 and moved those PC peripherals under its own badge, so the Vulcan keyboards, Kone and Burst mice and Sense mousepads now sit alongside the Stealth and Recon headsets in a single range.

The Turtle Beach Advantage

What You Get From
Turtle Beach

A fifty-year audio company that absorbed a German peripheral maker. The result is a catalogue that covers a console headset and a PC keyboard from the same support portal.

Five Decades Of Audio Work

The company started building audio hardware in 1975, long before gaming headsets were a category. Superhuman Hearing, its long-running preset, compresses the dynamic range so quiet positional cues sit closer in volume to loud ones. It is an equalisation choice rather than magic, and plenty of competitive players prefer it switched off for music and cinematic games.

Platform Support, With Conditions

Multiplatform models carry both a 2.4GHz transmitter and Bluetooth, so one headset can serve a console and a phone at once. Xbox is the exception that catches people out: it needs a model explicitly licensed for it, because the console does not accept a generic wireless dongle. The product listing names the platforms outright.

The ROCCAT Lines Carried Over

Vulcan keyboards, Kone and Burst mice and the Sense mousepad range all survived the brand consolidation and now ship as Turtle Beach. Existing ROCCAT hardware still works, and support and downloads moved to the Turtle Beach portal rather than being retired with the name.

Long Sessions Without The Clamp

Memory foam cushions, a floating headband on several models and channels cut for spectacle arms address the pressure points that end a session early. Weight is the number worth reading first, since a lighter cup at the same clamp force is what you actually feel after three hours.

Microphones That Flip And Mute

Most models mute by flipping the boom up, which is faster and more certain than hunting for an inline switch mid-round. The mics are tuned for speech intelligibility rather than a flat frequency response, which is the right trade for team chat and the wrong one for recording a voiceover.

Parts You Can Replace

Ear cushions wear out long before drivers do, and several Turtle Beach models sell replacements separately. Detachable cables on the wired range mean a damaged lead is a cheap fix rather than a dead headset. Check which of the two applies to the model you are looking at.

Matched To How You Play

Picking Across
The Merged Range

Ranked play, long single-player runs, streaming and simulation each pull a different piece of the catalogue to the front.

Competitive Ranked

Positional Audio Under Pressure

In ranked shooters the useful signal is quiet: a reload two rooms away, a plate breaking behind a wall. A closed cup with decent isolation and a low-latency 2.4GHz link does more for that than any processing mode. Pair it with a light mouse and the chain from hearing a step to landing a shot is as short as the hardware allows.

Casual & Comfort

Comfort Over A Full Evening

Story-driven games and party chat reward light weight and gentle clamp far more than driver size. A wired Recon headset removes the charging problem entirely, and models with Bluetooth alongside the game connection let a call come through without lifting the cups off.

Streaming & Content

Audio Your Viewers Actually Hear

A headset boom is built to be intelligible through compression on a voice channel, which is not the same as sounding good on a recorded stream. A desk microphone on a stand, positioned off-axis to the keyboard, is the single biggest jump in broadcast quality most streamers make.

Simulation & Immersion

Sitting Inside The Cockpit

Racing at Kyalami or flying a long leg in a simulator puts the emphasis on spatial cues and engine texture rather than footsteps. Larger drivers and the spatial audio modes on supported models give a stronger sense of where sound sits around you, and an open-backed PC headset keeps the heat down over a two-hour stint.
