Start with your home and your fibre plan. Match the router's WiFi standard and speed tier to your line speed, then decide whether a single router covers your space or you need mesh to reach every room. Check that it works cleanly behind your ISP's ONT or fibre router, and prioritise features that match how you use the network: gaming, streaming, video calls or a busy house full of devices.
You do not need the most expensive model to get a solid, stable connection. Buy for the coverage area and device count you actually have, and leave a little headroom for future devices and faster fibre packages.
