What the ROG badge means on a 5070

ASUS splits its graphics cards into two houses. Dual, Prime and TUF Gaming carry the ASUS name; ROG sits above them, and at the GeForce RTX 5070 the ROG line means Strix. There is no Astral version of this GPU, because ASUS reserved that top tier for the 5080 and 5090, so the Strix in standard and OC Edition form is the full extent of ROG at this level.

Underneath, the silicon is fixed. Every RTX 5070 runs Blackwell's GB205 chip with 6,144 CUDA cores, 12GB of GDDR7 at 28 Gbps across a 192-bit bus, and a PCIe 5.0 x16 link. Choosing ROG buys a 3.2-slot heatsink, a dual BIOS switch, addressable lighting and a support bracket in the box, not a different class of performance.
