What specs should a gaming PC have for 1080p gaming?

For smooth high-refresh 1080p, aim for a current-generation 60-class graphics card such as an NVIDIA RTX 5060, a modern 6-core Intel Core or AMD Ryzen processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and an NVMe SSD. That combination handles today's AAA titles at high settings while leaving room to push frame rates in competitive games.

What do I need for 1440p or 4K gaming?

For 1440p, step up to a 70-class current-gen GPU and 32GB of RAM for comfortable high-refresh play. For 4K, an 80-class or higher graphics card paired with a strong current Ryzen or Intel Core processor is the sensible entry point. Evetech can configure and test either build so the parts are balanced for the resolution you target.

Are Evetech's gaming PCs custom-built or off-the-shelf?

They are custom-built. Evetech assembles, cable-manages, tests, and backs every gaming PC in-house in South Africa rather than reselling a sealed brand system. You get a balanced configuration you can adjust before purchase, and a machine that is straightforward to upgrade later.

Is a prebuilt gaming PC better than building one myself?

A prebuilt from Evetech gives you a tested, warrantied system with local technical support and no assembly risk, which suits most buyers. Building yourself offers granular part control but takes time and carries the burden of troubleshooting compatibility. Evetech's custom builds sit in between: you choose the parts, and Evetech handles assembly and testing.

Which matters more, the graphics card or the processor?

For gaming, the graphics card usually has the bigger impact on frame rates and visual quality, especially at higher resolutions. The processor still matters for keeping the GPU fed and for streaming or creative work, so the aim is a balanced pairing rather than spending everything on one part.

Can these gaming PCs handle streaming and content creation?

Yes. Configurations with a current Ryzen 7 or Core i7-class processor, 32GB of RAM, and a fast NVMe SSD handle streaming, video editing, and design work alongside gaming. Modern NVIDIA and AMD GPUs also include hardware encoders that offload streaming with minimal impact on in-game performance.

How much RAM does a gaming PC need in 2026?

16GB of DDR5 is the practical minimum for current games, and 32GB is the comfortable choice if you stream, create content, or keep many applications open while playing. More RAM mainly helps multitasking rather than raw frame rates, so most gamers are well served by 16GB to 32GB.

Do Evetech gaming PCs come with a warranty in South Africa?

Yes. Every gaming PC Evetech builds is covered by warranty and backed by local technical support in South Africa, so defects and setup queries are handled here rather than through an overseas process. That local cover, plus a clear upgrade path, is part of what you pay for with a custom build.

Custom Gaming PC Deals

Built by Evetech in South Africa

Every rig on this page is a custom gaming PC that Evetech builds, tests, and backs in-house, pairing current-generation NVIDIA RTX and AMD Radeon graphics with the latest Intel Core and AMD Ryzen processors. Pick your resolution and budget, and get a balanced build with no bottlenecks, sorted stock, and a real warranty. 🎮

How to Choose a Gaming PC Deal in South Africa

The right gaming PC deal starts with the resolution you play at and the frame rate you want, then works backwards to the graphics card, processor, RAM, and storage that hit that target without overspending. A 1080p 144Hz build has very different priorities to a 4K high-refresh rig, so match the parts to how you actually play rather than to a headline spec sheet.

The graphics card is the single biggest driver of gaming performance, so choose it around the resolution you play at. A 60-class current-gen card (for example an RTX 5060) is aimed at high-refresh 1080p, a 70-class card suits 1440p, and 80-class or higher is where 4K becomes comfortable. Buying more GPU than your monitor can show is wasted money, and too little leaves you dropping frames in demanding titles.

Pair the graphics card with a current Intel Core or AMD Ryzen processor strong enough to keep it fed. A modern 6 to 8-core chip handles almost all gaming, while streaming, editing, or heavy multitasking benefit from more cores. The goal is balance: an over-powered CPU with a weak GPU (or the reverse) leaves performance on the table in the very games you bought the machine for.

16GB of DDR5 is a sensible floor for current games, and 32GB gives headroom for streaming, creative work, and having a browser full of tabs open while you play. Storage should be an NVMe SSD for fast load times; a 1TB drive fills quickly with modern titles, so plan for 2TB or a second drive if you keep a large library installed.

Sustained performance depends on keeping temperatures in check, so the case airflow and CPU cooler matter as much as the headline parts. A quality 80 PLUS-rated power supply with enough wattage and the right connectors protects the whole system and leaves room for a future GPU upgrade. These are the parts people cut to save money, and the ones that cause problems later.

A custom PC is a long-term investment, so buy from a builder who tests the system and stands behind it. Evetech assembles these machines locally in South Africa, which means a clear upgrade path when you want to add storage, RAM, or a stronger graphics card down the line rather than replacing the whole rig.

Because Evetech builds these systems in-house, you can start from a balanced base configuration and adjust the parts that matter for your games. The factors below are the ones worth weighing before you buy, and each has a bigger effect on real performance than the sticker on the box.
