1080p at 60fps is the sweet spot for smooth streaming and calls; 4K adds detail for content creators but needs more bandwidth and a capable PC. 720p suits basic video calls on a budget.
A larger sensor and good auto-exposure keep you clear in dim rooms. If you film in average indoor light, prioritise low-light handling — or pair a webcam with a simple ring or key light.
Reliable autofocus keeps you sharp as you move; a wider field of view fits more in frame for groups, while a narrower one keeps focus on you. Some webcams let you adjust the FOV.
