Every current desktop socket takes DDR5 and nothing else, so the question is no longer whether a board supports it but how well. Slot count, trace layout, the tested memory list and the firmware behind it all decide whether a kit runs at its rated speed or quietly settles at its base setting.

That gap costs real money. A kit sold as DDR5-7200 that trains at 4800 because of how the slots are arranged has taken a premium and returned nothing, while a modest kit on a well-laid-out board holds its profile through firmware updates and years of use.
