Ryzen 3 is AMD's entry tier, and on an HP notebook it buys quiet, cool, integrated-graphics computing for browsing, mail, Office documents, video calls and streaming. There is no discrete graphics chip at this level, so the rest of the budget goes into the screen, the keyboard, the battery and the drive.

The badge alone will not tell you what you are getting. The same Ryzen 3 name currently appears on four-core Zen 2 silicon, on four-core Zen 4 parts with newer Radeon graphics, and on a revived two-core design aimed at the cheapest machines. Read the full model number, the memory size and whether that memory is soldered, then buy the configuration rather than the tier.
