Two laptops can both say RTX 5070 on the lid and behave differently, for two separate reasons. The first is memory: NVIDIA added a 12GB version of the same GPU during 2026 without changing the core count. The second is the power the chassis permits, specified between 50W and 100W before Dynamic Boost is counted.
That makes the specification sheet matter more at this tier than anywhere else in the range. Read the memory figure and the graphics power figure together, then decide. On its own the model name tells you very little about how a given machine will perform.
