Core i5 is Intel's mainstream mobile tier, and in a gaming laptop it usually means an H-series chip with four performance cores backed by a cluster of efficient ones. In practice the graphics run out of headroom well before the processor does.

Intel retired the 'i' from its naming in mid-2023, so newer stock at the same tier arrives badged Core 5 instead. The Core 5 210H, for instance, is Raptor Lake-H silicon under the new label. Both spellings sit in this range, and what actually separates two laptops is how much power the graphics chip is allowed to draw and how well the chassis moves heat away from it.
