One Tier, Two Names: Reading Intel's Entry Badge on a Dell
Intel removed the lower-case i from its mainstream processor branding, so a chip that would once have been sold as Core i3 now appears simply as Intel Core 3. Nothing about where it sits in the range changed. The consequence for shoppers is that entry Dell notebooks are currently split across two labels, with older stock still reading Core i3 and newer arrivals reading Core 3.
This page filters on the older term, which is why the grid is narrower than the tier really is. Treat the badge as a rough position marker and read the full processor code on each listing, because that is what identifies the architecture, the core count and the age of the platform you are buying.
