Does Evetech have a shop or collection point in Durban?

No. The only premises is at Limeroc Business Park on Holland Road, the R114, in Centurion, and it is a warehouse and build facility, not a showroom. Paid orders can be collected there by prior arrangement, and every KZN order is shipped.

What arrives in the box when I order a complete gaming PC?

The parts named on the product card: processor, graphics card, memory, storage, power supply, case and the operating system where it is listed. A monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset are separate purchases unless the listing states they are bundled.

Is it better to order an assembled system or the parts and build it myself?

Assembled means one supplier, one tested machine and one warranty path. A parts list means you diagnose faults yourself and each item has its own return leg, which is slow from 500 kilometres away. Custom desktop PCs are built to order and take 2-4 business days.

Does Durban's humidity damage a desktop PC?

Humidity on its own rarely kills electronics. Corrosion is driven by time of wetness combined with airborne chloride near the coast, and it shows up over years on exposed contacts and steel rather than in one season. How far you are from the sea makes a large difference to how much chloride reaches the machine.

Should I target 1080p at a high refresh rate or step up to 1440p?

1440p carries roughly 1.8 times the pixels of 1080p, so it asks noticeably more of the graphics card at the same settings. A high refresh rate only pays back if the frame rate reaches it, which is why competitive players often stay at the lower resolution while single-player gamers take the sharper picture.

What should I check the moment the courier hands over the box?

Look at the outer carton for crushing or punctures before signing, and photograph it if anything looks wrong. Power the machine up and confirm the listed parts are present. Optional shipping insurance is offered at one percent of order value, which is worth weighing on a full tower.

Can I upgrade the machine myself later without a service counter nearby?

A standard desktop uses standard parts, so swapping a graphics card, memory or a drive is a side-panel job. The limits are physical and electrical: clearance for a longer card, free memory slots, spare M.2 sockets, and whether the power supply carries the right connectors and headroom. Check the warranty terms for what may be opened.

Buying a Gaming PC in Durban: Online Orders, Nationwide Delivery

Evetech trades online and holds one set of premises, a combined warehouse and build facility in Centurion, Gauteng. There is no branch, service counter or collection point anywhere in KwaZulu-Natal, so every order placed from Durban travels by courier.

Delivery after dispatch: 1-3 business days to main centres, 3-5 business days to regional and outlying areas. Warm, humid coastal air is a local factor worth planning for, and it shapes case and cooling choices more than it changes which components you pick.

Gaming PC Buying Guide for Durban and KwaZulu-Natal

A gaming desktop bought from the KZN coast is an online purchase with a courier leg attached. Assembly happens in Gauteng, and the specification approved at checkout is the one that arrives.

Two separate stages add up. Preparation is listed at one to three days for components, peripherals and laptops, and two to four days for a custom desktop that has to be assembled and tested. Transit then runs one to three business days because the city is on the major-centre band. Towns further along the coast fall into the regional band instead, at three to five days.

Component temperatures are a rise above the air the fans are pulling in, so a hot room lifts every reading with it. An unrestricted front intake and a clear exhaust path give the cooler its best chance in February. Filtered intakes running slightly positive pressure also keep dust out, which matters because harder-working fans pull more of it through.

Atmospheres with a strong salinity influence sit at the top of the ISO 9223 corrosivity scale, and chloride deposition drops away quickly with distance from the shoreline. A machine a few kilometres inland is in a different environment to one on the beachfront. Keep it off the floor, away from windows that face the sea, and running regularly rather than standing unused for months.

Summer thunderstorms and municipal supply faults both put a desktop at risk, and a plug-in surge protector only covers the mains lead. A line-interactive UPS holds the system up long enough to save work and shut down cleanly, and it steadies voltage sag as well. It is not a generator, and runtime is measured in minutes.

Support is handled remotely first, and anything that has to go back travels by courier to Centurion. Keeping the original carton and foam is the practical difference between a straightforward return and an argument about transit damage. Where collection applies, it is arranged at the Centurion warehouse only.

Start from the display. Resolution and refresh rate set the graphics requirement, and the rest follows from there: the processor keeps frame times steady, memory capacity decides how much can run alongside the game, and the power supply has to cover the card's peak draw with headroom left over.
