The Full Processor Number Decides What You Get
Core Ultra 5 is a price tier, not a single processor. Intel has put the badge on three different mobile families since 2024, and they do not share a core layout, a graphics engine, or even the same rule about where the memory lives. Two machines on the same shelf can both read Core Ultra 5 and behave quite differently once a workload runs for more than a minute.
So read the digits after the badge. A number starting with 1 is the first Core Ultra generation. A 2 ending in V is the thin-and-light part with memory built onto the processor package; a 2 ending in H or HX is the higher-power line for larger chassis; and a 3 belongs to the family Intel introduced at the start of 2026.
