What actually causes digital eye strain

"Digital eye strain" (or computer vision syndrome) is real and well-documented. But the cause is almost never the screen itself — it's the way your body interacts with it for eight hours straight.

The 20-20-20 setup — distance, height, break rhythm
Three numbers do most of the work: 20 minutes, 20 feet, 20 seconds. Plus arm's length for distance and eye-level for height. Get these right and you've solved 80% of digital eye strain before you buy a single accessory.

Sit normally. Stretch your arm forward, fingers extended. Your fingertips should just brush the screen. Bias lighting and ambient glare

Common eye-strain mistakes
